Bakery Manager

Location: Russ's Market, Hastings

Shift: Full-time (flexible)

About the Role

We’re seeking a passionate and creative Bakery Manager to lead our bakery team at Russ's Market. If you love working with food and people—and bring the right mix of experience and enthusiasm—this role is made for you!

Achieve or exceed budget projections in gross profit, sales, supplies, and labor percent in a sanitary, pleasing atmosphere. Preparation of quality product on a large scale for sale in the bakery. Efficient handling of merchandise to meet the demands of the customers. Servicing customers in a timely, friendly manner. Must be 21 years old; Supervisor Food Handler's Permit required. Requires long periods of standing, lifting and bending.

Responsibilities

• Follow directives of Store Director and Bakery Director.
• Provide the best products and service possible.
• Maintain a friendly, professional attitude.
• Interview, hire, motivate, schedule, and direct subordinates.
• Monitor and evaluate associates on a regular basis.
• Control and purchase inventory.
• Control and constant recording of sales and stale product.
• Use of intercom for instore promotions.
• Process terminations in a timely manner.
• Enforce Company policies and procedures.
• Follow Company Safety Standards.

Required Skills

• Written communication: Stale sheets, production sheets, weekly analysis, schedule, pricing, retail and cost sheets.
• Troubleshooting.
• Flexibility in designing customer participation programs and promotional ideas.
• Responsible for compliance with Health Department standards.
• Delegation - Follow-up.
• Effective and ongoing training.
• Customer and associate relations.
• Assist in all phases of production.
• Monitor competition and maintain competitive pricing.

Preferred Skills

Safe usage, proper storage and cleaning of: Bread Machine, Bun Rounder, Donut Fryer, Sheeters, Scales, Bread Slicer, Label Machine, Hand Jack, Trash Compactor, Cardboard Baler, Trash Compactor, Proof Box, Oven, Four-gear Mixer, Three-gear Mixer, Shrink Wrapper, Fryer, Glazer, as well as All Attachments and/or Utensils related to baking.

Schedule

45 hour week (must include some weekend hours); Must be available for some travel.
