Job Description
MUST HAVE HIGH LEVEL OF SKILL IN REVIT/SKETCHUP AND MICROSOFT OFFICE AS WELL AS AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE INTERIOR DESIGN INDUSTRY OR SIMILAR FIELD.
Detail oriented with educational and professional experience, in high end residential interiors. This role requires extensive multi-tasking, be able to work both independently and alongside the Principal designer directly, and has an innate creative eye. Ability to multi-task while keeping details across several projects clear, accurate and concise, High-energy self-starter, has exceptionally strong communication skills as well as a high level of self-confidence.
This role definitely has room to grow and expand dependent on performance and how proactive you are in the role.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administrative Support
- Provide direct administrative support to the design and accounts team. You will be tasked with running errands, making appointments, making enquiries on behalf of the Principal designer with both vendors and clients. Accompanying the Principal designer to all client meetings to capture accurate notes, take required measurements and photographs, and any other administrative tasks as required.
- Responsible for client proposals and basic invoicing in both Houzz and QuickBooks.
Interior Design
- Provide direct assistance to Principal designer, often on-site at installations, at the design center selecting design options, or at vendor locations. During projects, you will be required to help move furniture, measure rooms and items, hang artwork, and take photographs of spaces as directed. During Christmas installations you will be required to be organized, creative and be able to work independently to help us create a beautiful end product. Your design input will be welcomed and encouraged.
- Interact With Clients, Vendors, Suppliers, & Service Providers
- Interact directly with all key stakeholders for a project, including but not limited to better understanding client needs, making follow-up phone calls, scheduling appointments, scheduling deliveries, performing market research in the preparation of a project bid, schedule installs with clients, and trouble-shoot any issues with manufacturers/ reps/holding warehouse.
- Responsible for following up on ALL potential leads for design work.
Manage Projects
- Our interior design firm often manages several projects simultaneously. You may be dispatched to oversee important aspects of certain projects to ensure they are completed on time and without incident. This role also requires you to work very closely with the Accountant and provide video and content for the social media manager.
CAD experience Essential (sketchup/Revit and Design Presentations (Canva and Powerpoint)
- Responsible for providing professional design presentations, CAD renderings, and design drawings for all parties on a project. This includes clients, contractors, fabricators, etc. Utilize CAD programs to support in design presentations as needed.
Absolute Commitment and Loyalty
General
- Hours are 10am - 6pm Monday through Friday – there will be rare occasions where you will be expected to work beyond these hours to meet a deadline
- Polished and professional communication skills and being well presented is a must.
