Job Description
Summary:
Provides physical therapy as prescribed by the patient’s physician, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Note: Other Duties May Be Assigned)
• Performs services planned, delegated, and supervised by the therapist
• Assists in preparing clinical notes and progress reports;
• Participates in educating the patient and family;
• Provides services planned, delegated, and supervised by the therapist;
• Participates in in-service programs;
• Must be able to communicate instructions to the patient;
• Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and home care staff.
• Participates in patient case conferences as requested.
• Able to see and hear adequately to respond to auditory and visual requests which relate to the coordination of Agency activities.
• Able to speak in a clear, concise voice in order to communicate direction for homecare activities and staff.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, Agency and employee matters.
• Submits documentation within required timeframes.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapy Assistant
Education and/or Experience:
• One year of physical therapy experience is required.
Language Skills:
• Must possess good communication skills, both written and verbal in English. Ability to communicate in other foreign languages is desirable.
Mathematical Skills:
• Math skills required
Reasoning Ability:
• Able to work under pressure and handle multi-task functions. Must be able to deal effectively with people. Must be self-motivated and resourceful.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• Licensed as a physical therapy assistant in the State of Florida.
